FAQs
How big of a tree can you remove?
The mulching equipment we use is designed for brush and saplings. The occasional, tree of 4-5" diameter can be mulched but would prefer to stay with the brush removal for safety reasons. If you have large trees that need to be removed, we have recently added a tree shear capable of removing up to a 10" tree.
Can the equipment grind rocks?
No. If you are considering land clearing in rocky areas, I have contacts for professionals that provide this service.
Will this remove stumps like a traditional stump grinder?
Depending on the terrain, stumps can be made level with the ground. It cannot grind below grade like a traditional stump grinder. I have contacts for professionals that provide this service and can be included in the project cost.
Will I be able to turn my brush into lawn?
Yes, but it will take more work than just the brush removal. The equipment will grind the standing vegetation leaving fragments of wood. Some of the smaller, pliable brush may be left behind as they do not break down like larger vegetation. Fill / Black Dirt may need to be added to level the area to make it suitable for your lawn.
It is on tracks. Does that mean you can go anywhere?
No. The equipment does a pretty amazing job with it's light footprint but it can and will get stuck. It is a pretty heavy machine and large equipment is needed for recovery. If you have an area that is low-ground, consider doing your brush removal in the winter months when the ground is frozen.
